MuchLoved Integration Explained
Charity Toolkit has built an integration between MuchLoved and Donorfy. It automatically syncs tribute and donation data, weekly or daily, to keep your CRM system up to date with new donors, tributees and guardians.

MuchLoved came to fruition in 2005 and quickly became the leading platform for donation and fundraising management for in-memory giving. It’s understandably a popular platform for charities where loss is a key driver for support.
Until now fundraising and marketing teams had no choice but to manually export and import their giving data between MuchLoved and CRM systems like Donorfy, eating up precious resource and opening the door to human error. But thanks to the Charity Toolkit MuchLoved integreation, charities can finally free up that overhead, secure in the knowledge that this data can now flow and format automatically on a schedule they no longer need to keep themselves. The automation offers some huge synchronisation benefits:
- After the initial (free) setup, handled remotely by Charity Toolkit, the integration will run forever more, totally hands-off, freeing up your time and attention. Data from MuchLoved will begin flowing into Donorfy as soon as it's hooked up. We can even start that flow from a date in the past to ensure no unprocessed donations get left behind.
- The integration will identify known Constituents in Donorfy or will create new ones if they don't yet exist. It also updates records with new personal data if applicable and ensures communication preferences are set up accordingly.
- Donation transactions are appended to Constituent Timelines as you'd expect (individually, not in bulk), and we also handle Tribute and Guardian data by way of creating Beneficiary connected Constituents, connected Transactions and more.
- MuchLoved’s "Cover our costs" allocation is also included to the Transaction as part of the integration payload.
- Since MuchLoved handles your Gift Aid claims, we ensure the data synced won’t accidentally fall into the Donorfy claim a second time.
- For full transparency and troubleshooting, each Transaction generates a custom Activity on the Timeline that documents the data transfer, including successes and failures.
- Baked in are some failsafes; in cases where we don’t have all the data needed to reconcile cleanly, dummy entities are generated that we can attribute these transactions to, ensuring data is never lost or ignored. These filter into the aforementioned success and failure activities
- We also refresh our back-logs, ensuring any totally skipped donations, or donations that trickled in late owing to hold-ups at the bank, are also transmitted rather than forgotten.
- Custom mapping is also possible; whilst our integration does a terrific job formatting inbound data for clear and distinct reporting in Donorfy, it should be possible to adjust the mappings we use to suit your preferences.
The integration is available on subscription, and as standard, customers receive not only the data transmission but also first-line support.
